I have a license plate and the police doesn't threat me differently, they already have taken my bike many times... each time i've to pay the fine... I got caught so many times in shanghai with my waide paizhao that a couple of months ago, a policeman even took my driver license... he said: there's a problem with your license... I said: what problem...? He said: your license uses 17 points instead of 12... I said: ah? Really?? He said: look (on his manchine), always the same reason, in shanghai downtown with a waidi paizhao... I had to pass the written test again... A long time ago, at the very beginning i had the K8, the police took it and didn't want to give it back to me because i don't have the quality certificate "hegezhen" i think in chinese... after 7 days i called a friend who works for the police... he said no problem, just give me a few days... then 2-3 days later he called me and said: it's ok, you can go to take it back, just pay the fine and a "small hongbao"....

The police can speak good english who taken your bike ? It is big different with 5 years ago. But I know they have several translator in each police dep. I have police friend ability at Huangpu district, if you have some problem at Huangpu, just feel free to let me know, I will help you any time !

The most funny thing is that this policeman (my friend) i called, i meet him when he caught me with my first bike (a zx250r 1994). I was near People Square in a small street, he said that my license was fake blablabla... I said it's impossible blablabla... Then we talked about many things together, the life in shanghai, me, him, "the way" to deal with things in shanghai... When i mentionned the "hongbao", he said: ah no, it's not like this anymore in shanghai... Then he helped me with my moto ;)

I was 7-8 years motor driving expierenced. But never be catched. Once accidence my frist bike have no lisence tag and I was escaped. But it is the impressed keep in my mind at these 8 years. Every time I want to speed up in my driving, it's more helpfulled when I image this situation.
However, don't speeding fast and respect police and trafic regulations.
